Imaging the Sun in CaK!
Sun, like all stars, emits electromagnetic radiation in different colours of light. By filtering out specific wavelengths, one can reveal different portions of the sun’s surface.
Capture insane detail with mosaics!
When using a planetary camera with a telescope the field of view is often quite small due to small size of the sensor and high magnification of the telescope. To capture the sharpest detail this is of course desired, but what if you want to capture a larger area, lets say a full moon?
Sun's Fiery Majesty
Our nearest star, the Sun, offers a hidden world of fiery beauty often overlooked by amateur astronomers. With solar telescopes, one can observe a variety of fascinating phenomena on the Sun's surface. Like a beating heart, solar activity peaks every ten years as the solar cycle reaches its maximum. This peak is happening now, resulting in frequent displays of flares and large prominence's almost daily. This heightened activity is expected to continue for several years before gradually normalizing.
Mono vs Color Showdown!
Choosing a dedicated camera for astrophotography can be challenging, especially for beginners. Almost every model comes in two versions: monochrome and color. But which one is better? Let's dive into the world of sensors to find out!
